Rob's DJ career started at age 17 when he was approached about doing school and college events as part of his studies in Communications and Broadcasting at Saint Josephs College in Maine. It was a dare, actually, says Peters. The person who was supposed to do one of the college dances called me up and asked me to do it, as he was really ill. After some encouragement, and a little brown nosing, I agreed, and had a good time doing it. And that was the beginning.

Throughout Robs college career, he not only DJd college and school events, but he also worked as a producer and air talent at several radio stations in southern Maine. In 1991, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications/Broadcasting and a Business Administration minor.

Following college, Rob moved back to his home of Boston, where he continued to DJ, as well as worked in retail management and in mutual funds accounting, while continuing to run his DJ service It was very difficult for a while because I was working 40 hours per week at a day job, as well as spending at least 25 hours per week building my DJ company. In 1998, Rob took the plunge and became a full time mobile DJ, running his company with a partner. In 2000, Rob and his partner sold their company to a competitor who they were working with, and became the new organizations Director Of Operations, overseeing a staff of 75 DJs, Photographers, Videographers and office/support staff. He signed a two year contract, and continued to also DJ weddings and corporate events in addition to his daily duties.

At the end of his contract in 2002, Rob decided to start his own company again, learning from his previous experiences since going full time in 1998.
